Theatre 1 is a two-semester course that incorporates an introduction to
theatre, the role of the actor in interpreting dramatic literature, safe and
effective use of the body and voice through various performance theory and
techniques, and an overview of the technical elements and design of theatrical
production. This "Select" section of Theatre 1 is aimed at freshmen who
have had a strong introduction to theatre in Middle School, and are considering pursuing advanced theatre courses in the future, whether in tech, design, or acting. This section is audition or recommendation only.
