Theatre Arts I
Course Directors:
Ms. Erica Cole and Ms. Kerri Peters
Class Periods:
Theatre 1 is a two-semester course that incorporates an introduction to theatre, the role of the actor in interpreting dramatic literature, safe and effective use of the body and voice, and an overview of the technical elements of theatrical production. By the end of this course, students will be able to speak with confidence about how theatre productions are created, how to safely use voice and body in performance, and the basics of storytelling through body language and visual aids onstage. Students will also have a firm understanding of how skills used in theatre production can be used in parts of their lives that are not arts-related.
